G 1 Chronic Absenteeism
For 2025-26, CVLA will strive to improve attendance by encouraging parent and family engagement, making students feel they are physically and emotionally safe, academically challenged, and valued members of the student body. We will also work towards improving communication on the needs of attendance and how a strong attendance record will support the students throughout their life and career.

S 1.1 Assure Safe/Healthy Learning Environment
CVLA will ensure infrastructure is safe and conducive to student learning through updating district procedures in planning, preventing, and responding to emergency situations. These provisions will assure instructional time is preserved, while ensuring students are in a safe and healthy learning environment, which will directly and positively impact student attendance.

S 1.2 Community Eligibility Provision
CVLA will utilize the Community Eligibility Provision which is an universal meal plan under the National School Lunch Program that permits eligible LEAs and schools to provide meal service to all students at no charge, regardless of economic status. The CEP program will be used to promote social acceptance and to motivate all students to participate in a nutritious lunch and encourage attendance during 2025-26.

- All students will be given breakfast and lunch each day they attend in-person classes. Meal counts are conducted by the cafeteria manager at Soldier's Memorial Middle School to keep an accurate account of all received by students. These accounts are shared with the district supervisor each month.

CVLA will encourage fair and restorative disciplinary practices that are consistently implemented by all staff to encourage attendance and discourage chronic absenteeism.

S 2.2 Instructional Support
CVLA teachers will participate in the districts support to impact the quality, content and structure of teaching English/Language arts and learning throughout all schools within the district.
CVLA administration and teachers will participate in district supports including professional development led by Dr. Meagan England for school wide data review.
CVLA administration and teachers will conference with Lori Duncan at monthly RTI meetings discussing individual student Aims Web benchmark testing results and intervention strategies at the for CVLA students with a focus on literacy and EOC subject areas.

During monthly teacher leader academies, the teachers will reflect on the conversations and provide each other feedback on how to improve future data conversations.
- Walk-throughs will be utilized monthly to check for rigor of instruction and view student work associated with parings of novels to high-quality articles and poetry. Benchmark assessment data, as it becomes available, will also be evaluated for 9-12 improvement and areas of need.

CVLA will continue Dual Enrollment partnership with Walters State Community College. This will provide upper class high school students with the opportunity to earn college credits. Dual Enrollment will be monitored by teachers by monitoring reports from WSCC as students progress through each course.
