G 1 Chronic Absenteeism
CVLA will strive to achieve a 93% student attendance rate through consistent student communication, parent and family engagement activities and lastly student attendance incentives. due to CVLA being a hybrid Virtual school attendance will be monitored through time spent on lesson activities and required weekly student attendance at the school.
Performance Measure
For the school year 2021-2022 CVLA attained a student attendance rate of 94.7%. CVLA will strive to attain the 93% goal as set forth by the state again this school year 2022-2023.

S 1.1 Assure Safe/Healthy Learning Environment
CVLA is in the process of updating and implementing safety infrastructure such as the interior door electronic latch system. Requested exterior video surveillance of the entrance and parking lot. Mr. Perkins and SRO Officer Buis completed the annual School Security Assessment for 2022-2023 school year in May 2022. CVLA will implement any health and additional safety and security measures as as set forth by the district and state to ensure student health and maintain 93% attendance rate.

The CCBOE maintenance department is currently working on the install of a interior electronic latch security door.
The CVLA principal has requested installation of a Raptor System; the visitor, volunteer, and emergency management system.

A 1.1.1 Safety Infrastructure
Needed safety infrastructure will be installed for school year 202-23. Including interior electronic door latch system, exterior entry video and parking lot surveillance system.
ESSER funding will address the needed safety infrastructure upgrade for Raptor system to be utilized at the CVLA.

S 1.2 Chronic Absenteeism
CVLA will monitor attendance data, clarify attendance expectations and goals, recognize good and improved attendance and, coordinate with attendance personnel and involve students and parents to improve attendance, combat chronic absenteeism and assure students are on track to complete all classes.
Benchmark Indicator
- Absenteeism will be monitored weekly by the CVLA Lead Teacher, Teaching Assistant (CVLA Aspen) and Principal.
- CVLA staff will do check-ins with students to monitor progress.
- Absenteeism will be monitored at the end of each month by the Attendance Supervisor.

A 1.2.1 Student Attendance
Lead Teacher will enter weekly attendance into ASPEN portal. Absenteeism will be enforced through the student handbook procedures. CVLA staff will implement fair and restorative discipline and monitor against plagiarism.
CVLA will implement a student Check-In, monitoring student attendance and academic progress.

S 1.3 Student/Family Support Services
Provide resources to disengage barriers linked to absences and improve school climate at the CVLA in order to promote academic progress in the virtual environment.
Benchmark Indicator
- Documentation by School Social Workers referrals for excessive absences.
- Tracking of attendance and communication of absences with parent/guardian.
- Check-ins with students via Aspen staff.
- Attendance Supervisor will run data reports to document the number of parents using the Aspen Parent Portal monthly to gain perspectives on the rate of use.
A 1.3.1 School Level Attendance Check-Ins
CVLA will implement the 'check-in' strategy we learned about in our Tennessee Virtual School Network meeting this summer. Attendance is key for individual student academic success. CVLA will use the check-in idea to make weekly student calls to discuss with the student what module they are working on within each subject and assist with any lesson's the student may need with. These check-ins within other Tennessee Virtual schools have helped improve student assistance and overall academics.

By Spring 2023 CVLA personnel will emphasize improvement of the 6-8 and high school literacy. Strategies in 6-8 and high school literacy will be implemented to assure success rate improvement.

High quality professional development will be provided for instructional staff and school administrators for instructional effectiveness in the virtual setting.

- CVLA administration will coordinate with FLVS to provide professional development with technology pertaining too the virtual school setting. Emphasis with the Florida Virtual and Buzz platform.

S 2.2 Instructional Support
CVLA teachers will participate in the districts support to impact the quality, content and structure of teaching English/language arts and learning throughout all schools within the district.
CVLA administration and teachers will participate in district supports including professional development led by Dr. Meagan England for school wide data review and implantation techniques to address Mathematics instructional effectiveness in the virtual setting.
CVLA administration and teachers will conference with Lori Duncan with assessment and intervention strategies for CVLA students with a focus on mathematics, literacy and EOC subject areas.

A 2.3.1 Aims Web and Study Island
Aims Web and Study Island benchmark assessments will be administered to CVLA students at the school. The assessment results will be utilized for RTI intervention in R/LA.
The Aims Web and Study Island assessment data results will be analyzed three times each academic year with the goal to address student academic weaknesses' within the Mathematics and Literacy areas.

CVLA instructional delivery is web based. Students are issued a chrome book and all coursework is web-based through the FLVS curriculum and the BUZZ platform. Technology impacts the quality, content and structure of reading/language arts instruction and learning throughout all of CVLA's academic disciplines

CVLA students will complete ELA coursework on their school issued chrome book. Students are assigned lessons through FLVS each week. They visit the school center to review their progress and prepare for the next week. During weekly visits to the school center, CVLA faculty will assess completed work and record grades accordingly. Student course placement will be monitored and adjusted as needed.

Upon enrollment students will be issued a chrome book for use with their web-based courses.

High quality math professional development for instructional staff and school administrators. CVLA staff will participate in Mathematics specific data review and professional development led by district supervisors. CVLA will review Math Aims Web and Study Island student assessment data and adjust instructional techniques and emphasis on student weaknesses in specific math concepts. CVLA staff will participate as needed with the weekly Florida Virtual Global User Community resource that is provided by FLVS for teachers to access with instructional and technical information to address concerns and questions with mathematics instruction.

Since the CVLA serves students countywide; will assist in the goal for special education students improvement of target APR goals 7, 11, and 3 within the schools grade span of 6-11 grade.

Indicator 3: Statewide Assessment, ELA GRADES 4 & 8 Assessment Proficiency, our performance is 28.09% and the state is > 47.57%.
Math Grades 4 & 8 Assessment Proficiency, our performance is 18.89% and the state is > 31.75%.
EOC English (English II) Assessment Participation Rate, our performance is 86.84% and the state is > 90.00%.

S 4.1 Child Find Compliance
CVLA staff will participate in child find compliance training of all professionals responsible for eligibility determinations that includes a review of eligibility timelines.
CVLA staff will participate in monthly reviews by the IEP Administrator, to proactively check for upcoming eligibility meetings and due dates.
CVLA staff will participate in training of all special education faculty on how to handle referrals, testing, and observations to ensure compliance with all child find requirements.
CVLA staff will participate in transition meetings for students who are two years old and in the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) preparing to turn three years of age and transition into the school system through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

S 4.2 Statewide Assessments Proficiency and Participation
CVLA will collaborate with Special Education district personnel to address the districts -- Local APR Determinations, Indicator 3 show performance scores lower than target scores. All statewide assessment participation scores were met except for the EOC English Assessment which was 3.84% below target. 25 students were scheduled to participate in that assessment, but three were not in attendance for the testing. Proficiency scores all fell below target scores. Continued training in high-quality instruction, intervention supports, and special education services will be provided.

CVLA will implement the Claiborne County Assessment Calendar. CVLA administration and teachers will communicate with both student and parent/guardians to promote 100% student assessment participation.
CVLA will utilize the district's assessment benchmark indicators goals in TNReady and EOC's due to very small student grade level sizes and the school entering its third year of operation.
